Sarah, you should add…”and oh by the way, I am proud to take responsibility, at least in part, for Saturday’s “tragedy.”

Sarah Palin, Louie Gohmert, Dick Armey, Glenn Beck, Jim DeMint, and all the rest of them finally got one of their message deliverers to REALLY deliver….in the form of a bullet to the head to Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford and a score of others, six of whom were killed including a nine year old girl on Saturday in Tucson.
There’s no way this fucked-up country of ours should allow Palin, Armey, DeMint, and the rest of the to escape their culpability, which should be considered HUGE. They should now be allowed to escape….not this time. All eyes and fingers of blame should be set squarely in the direction of Palin, Armey, DeMint, et al. If this were a civilized country, they would already be in America’s “crosshairs.”
Palin has been fanning the flames of outrage and dissent for a year now, like Hitler exploiting the weak, ignorant, and vulnerable, and getting away with it every step of the way, unchecked, and in fact rewarded for her literal calling to arms or actions falling just short of calling to arms. The time has long come for sane America, or what’s left of it, to “call itself to arms” to stop these people because if Saturday’s action goes unchecked it will simply further embolden them….thus further empowering them to continue. It will only be a matter of days (if it hasn’t happened already) before Palin, Armey, and the rest of these like-minded vermin to began a campaign of deflection and denial….

Absolutely agreed. The rightwing is going to try and scurry away from this as fast as their insect legs can carry them – and it’s up to the pols (those with a few brain cells remaining ) and the media (ditto) to CALL THESE BASTARDS OUT. They have been responsible for creating a toxic atmosphere fulled of hate and vitriol, calling for “2nd amendment solutions” and “lock and load” mentality.
Already the asshat R congressman (Frank?) AZ, on MTP this a.m., started jabbering about “protecting our freedoms” and then went on to say that (paraphrasing, can’t remember exact words) “if there were policemen around with guns, this may not have happened.” What utter nonsense.
We need to not only dial down the rightwing rhetoric, but also to seriously reconsider the gun laws (AZ has one of the most lenient laws in the country) (and don’t get me started on gun and knife shows) and the obvious lack of good mental health care for those who require it.
Montana, one of the men who tackled the shooter was packing heat; it did no good whatsoever in preventing this tragedy.

Like I said, it will go on and on and on as long as we, as a nation, don’t take great steps to remove the cancer that is manifested by Sarah Palin, Dick Armey, Jim DeMint, Fox News, and the rest of the true perpetrators of violence and the call to violence in America. Instead of allowing Dick Armey to appear on “This Week” just a few minutes ago, thus legitimizing him and minimizing his culpability in yesterday’s tragedy, “This Week” should have demanded he answer for the huge role he plays in U.S. sanctioned hate.

Right this moment crazed Arizona rep Trent Franks (the nut with the hairlip) is on David Gregory’s show actually suggesting that if Congresswoman Gifford’s entourage had been armed yesterday, perhaps this would not have happened. So, they are ALREADY in full crazed spin mode. Thus the only answer teabaggers have is to arm everyone so there can be an OK Coral at every street corner of America. That’s their answer.
And fuck you David Gregory for being part of the problem and not part of any solution for not calling Trent Franks on his outrageous comments on your show.

The TP guy was David Webb (very clever, I might add, for Fox to book a TP person who is black). One of the other panelists–he was a NYC police captain (retired, perhaps?), DID call him out on it, saying that the father is entitled to say anything he wants in the midst of his grief. And I will give credit to Geraldo (he was hosting whatever show it was–I just flipped over there to see what Fox was saying about it) for saying that ads with crosshairs and other violent images are in bad taste and should be stopped.

So, your site and several others have been dedicated to this since yesterday. Good job. It’s a small comfort. To be able to vent, and read other people’s venting. Catharsis is good in times like this.

When Sarah runs for president in 2012, she cannot be allowed to hide from that Sarahpac “target” ad. That’s the message we have to take from this, IMO. It needs to kept out there. People need to be reminded again and again. She is a hate merchant. She profits from hate and fear. When you use the imagery of a GUNSIGHT in your ad, there are people out there who will see it as more than just “imagery.” No matter what the political “affiliation” of the shooter (and I doubt he has one that makes sense), she has culpability for playing around with that stuff.
Don’t let people forget.

Sarah Palin, Beck, Rush and others should be charged as being accessories to the commission of a crime. They aided & abetted an apparent paranoid schizophrenic by providing him with a target — a woman who had the temerity to hold elected office in Arizona as a Democrat. The Chief Justice of the Arizona circuit court was at the event accidently — just stopped by to say ‘hello’ to Congresswoman Giffords. And the 9-year old girl who was murdered had been born on September 11, 2001. Rarely has there been so much irony mixed with tragedy.
A nation that turns guns into a ‘fundamental human right’ while denying decent universal health care to its own people, is not a civilized society.
Finally somewhat presents my sentiments exactly. It will, of course, never happen…but they did aided and abetted indeed with Sarah going so far, as most now know, of putting Rep. Giffords (and others) in “crosshairs” on her website. Can’t get much explicit than that.

He is a registered Independent and as such has no connection to either party. Big fucking deal. Not his actions so much as the negative attention it shines on the hate they live on.

They are now saying this man began obsessing on the Congresswoman long before Palin put up her map. Really? He saw her incite crowds to a fevered pitch urging them on to a hatred of the President. She dealt every card from the bottom of the deck….including the race card….while consistently playing the victim card.
Now Barbara Walters is publicly stating how sorry she feels for this woman because Loughner didn’t carry around an autographed copy of her book to prove her influence over him. Barbara you haven’t been a serious journalist since Reagan was crapping his pants during the State of the Union so save your “integrity”……what little you had you lost in my eyes when you threw in with this shrew.

The FBI says there is no official link to either party and that Laughner’s mental illness and obsession started long before Palin put her crosshairs on a map for all the world to see.
But it does not exempt these merchants of hate from contributing to the climate that exacerbated his sickness……which is a sickness that so many of them have in common……
